After my diagnosis
of breast cancer
I found creativity a helpful response to the frightening
experiences of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation
and reconstruction.
As I progressed through treatment,
I began a series
of digital photography collages to document my
cancer experience. It was
hard for me to keep a written journal, but as an artist,
creating a visual journal was second nature. It was therapeutic
and emotionally
valuable to make images marking my cancer journey.
